Annual caraway "Sprinter" (Carum carvi) is a vigorous variety recommended for cultivation in herbaries in your home gardens. Caraway plants grow 100 cm tall, display an erect habit with numerous, feathery leaves. They develop impressive, umbel-like inflorescences consisting of myriads of tiny white blooms in early summer. The seasoning and medicinal material are the fruit of "Sprinter" caraway that look like elongated, crescent-shaped seeds. You may use them whole or ground, as addition to pickled and cooked cabbage, hearty, fatty meat dishes, sauces, soups and cheese. Caraway enhances and improves the flavour of these dishes and improves digestion, acts carminative, cholagogue, diuretic and diastolic.

In order for the self-dependant "Sprinter" caraway cultivation to bring best possible results, choose a sunny site with a light, moist, fertile, lime soil for its cultivation. This herb is undemanding and does not require much care. The seeds offered here should be sown in early spring, while the valuable fruit are harvested in summer.
