The Blue Dwarf Bellflower is a perennial plant which grows only around 10 centimetres in height with beautiful little heart-shaped leaves. It flowers during the first year of cultivation. Its numerous bell-shaped flowers cover the entire plant throughout the summer. The Blue Dwarf Bellflower, which is also known as Fairly Thimbles, is relatively straightforward to grow and highly recommended for pots, containers or rockeries.
Growing: sow the seeds in planter boxes or in covered pallet planters. Do not cover the seeds – lightly press them into the soil using a small board. The seeds germinate in 14 to 20 days at 16-20°C. In May, plant out into a permanent position in 10-20cm spacings. The plants require sunny or slightly shaded position in moist fertile permeable soils.
