The "Birdseye" hot chilli pepper (Capsicum annuum) is a chilli pepper variety originating from Thailand. Its fruit are very spicy, much hotter than jalapeños, and reach up to 100,000 points on the Scoville scale. In the early ripening phase they are light green, and over time they change colour to juicy orange and, ultimately, blood-red. "Birdseye" peppers are quite small, elongated in shape. They look extremely picturesque at the background of dense, dark green foliage. A paprika bush, adorned with colourful peppers, displays unique decorative qualities. The variety offered in our store is suitable for growing in pots and under covers. During warm, sunny years it also yields good crops in the ground.

"Birdseye" hot pepper seeds are sown in early spring under covers or at home, in well-lit , warm room. Seedlings have to be thinned into separate pots and, after hardening, may be transplanted into the ground at the end of May the earliest. The proposed variety grows abundantly in ordinary garden soil. It should be medium compact, permeable and rich in humus. The site place needs to be sheltered, warm and sunny. The fruit of the offered pepper variety can be dried, ground and used as a very spicy seasoning for sauces, marinades, pastes and meat.

Note: Seeds of hot pepper should be sown with gloves. We insist on washing hands thoroughly after the procedure.
