The Zwanenburg Bronze crocus (Crocus) stands out from the other representatives of this genus with an unusual colouring of the flowers: its inner petals are vividly yellow, while the outer ones dark brown. The flowers take on a shape of semi-spherical, deep cups and appear in large groups surrounded by narrow green leaves that resemble grasses. This plant grows 8 to 10 cm tall and every bulb produces one flower.
Plant crocuses in autumn 10 to 15 cm deep in a rather light and permeable, yet not dry nor sandy soil. These tiny plants love the sun and therefore feel best in open areas, such as lawns and sunny rock gardens. The cultivation of crocuses in pots on a sunny balcony or well lit terrace is a great idea, too. We recommend to grow them in large groupings, preferably in multi-variety plantings. The offered Zwanenburg Bronze cultivar forms a unique composition with the white-purple Ladykiller crocus.
Each package contains 100 pieces of the high quality bulbs that measure 5 to 6 cm in circumference. The bulbs offered in our store come from the Netherlands.
