Dahlia “Mom's Special” (Dahlia) produces double, gigantic inflorescences that consist of white petals decorated with purple dots and smudges. The first spherical blooms appear at the beginning of July already and continue to emerge gradually until first frosts. “Mom's Special” is an extremely attractive variety, whose plants sprout densely leaved, erect and up to 110 cm long stems. Due to its size, this variety looks particularly attractive on elevated borders, as a solitary plant on a lawn or by the hedge.

Dahlia rhizomes should be planted all May long onto thoroughly cultivated soil enriched with compost. These plants prefer sunny and wind-sheltered sites. They thrive on permeable, moderately moist soils rich in nutrients and humus. Dahlias are not frost-resistant and need to be excavated before the winter and stored in an airy, cool place.
