The attractive Myrtle's Folly dahlia attracts not only useful insects but the attention of garden visitors too. This magnificent plant produces flowers that take on a unique colouring: a combination of pink with peach and yellow touches. The large flowers with waved petals constitute a wonderful decoration of flower beds in the garden and tall plantings alongside building walls or secluded garden spots. The flowers that unfold into fluffy semi-spheres can be successfully used in bouquets and other cut flower arrangements. The spectacular Myrtle's Folly variety shoots densely leaved, 90 to 100 centimetres tall stems. Dahlias produce first flowers in July and continue their colour show until first autumn cold. They are the best garden decoration in the second half of summer.
Prepare the soil properly before planting dahlia rootstock. It should be thoroughly tilled first and fed with compost. Tall, yet frail dahlia shoots need protection - plant them in sheltered parts of the garden. Plants need plenty of sunlight and a permeable soil that is rich in nutrients and moderately moist to flower abundantly. Dahlia belongs to plants that are sensitive to low temperatures. Cut the shoots right above the ground after the first frost and excavate the tuberous rootstocks. Be careful not to damage them. After they have dried a bit, remove the superfluous soil and put the rootstocks into baskets or open boxes with sand, peat, or sawdust. Store dahlia rootstocks in a cool, dry place until the next planting in spring.
Each package contains 10 premium quality dahlia rootstocks of the Myrtle's Folly variety. Basic growing instructions and key plant facts were printed on the packaging label.
