Daylily Always Afternoon (Hemerocallis hybrida) is a reliable plant that stands out with its sheer beauty. In spring it develops a thick tuft of narrow, long, pale green leaves among which strong flowering stalks emerge. This variety may grow between 45 and 60 cm high. The blooms with delicately frizzled petal edges delight with their intense colouring and appear already early in summer. They are purple-pink with a strong accent of a crimson red ring that contrasts nicely with a greenish-yellow flower centres. Daylilies perfectly fit onto perennial borders, but you may also plant them alongside fences, paths or building walls. Make sure to provide them with sufficient space, as they grow and spread rather abundantly.

Daylilies should be planted into the ground in the middle of spring or in autumn. They feel well both in the full sun and partial shade. These plants bloom splendidly each year, provided you fertilize them regularly. They do not have any special requirements in regard to the soil, but they prefer light, humous and moderately moist soils. This plant species is fully frost-resistant.
