Should you be searching for an unusual iris variety for your garden, the Dutch iris (Iris hollandica) Bronze Queen is your plant. This variety develops thick, strong, erect stalks that rise up high up to 60 cm. The ribbon-like, brightly green leaves develop at their bases and atop of them sit large flowers that could measure up to 10 cm. As the name of the variety suggests they take on a brown colour that is enriched with golden yellow accents visible on the outer parts of the sepals. The attractive Bronze Queen iris blooms from May to July.
The Dutch irises should be planted in autumn into the quickly warming up, humous soil that retains water well, yet is not too heavy. The site for iris cultivation needs to be sunny and sheltered from the wind. Plant bulbs 10 cm deep. The presented variety makes a great impression accompanied by the yellow, purple and white irises. You can plant it not only on the flower beds, but on the lawn in larger groups or in large containers, too. It can also be successfully forced for cut flowers.
Each package contains 100 bulbs sized 7/8 cm. The bulbs offered in our store come from the Netherlands.
