"Reglice" lettuce (Lactuca sativa) is an interesting variety of the Batavia-type that stands out with more distinct taste and greater durability than the popular butterhead lettuce. "Reglice" variety is suited for cultivation in the field. It develops large, bright green heads that consist of loosely gathered leaves. Their leaf blades are juicy and crunchy, while their ragged edges add charm to their looks. Delicious leaves perfectly fit into salads, sandwiches and as dish garnishing. They retain firmness and appetizing looks way longer than butterhead lettuce.
Lettuce may be grown from seedlings or from direct sow to the field. Sow lettuce seeds from February to April under covers and from April to August in the garden. "Reglice" lettuce should be grown in 30 x 20 cm spacings. By sowing lettuce seeds in batches every few weeks you will be able to maximally prolong the harvest time. Depending on the cultivation method and time of sowing "Reglice" lettuce may be harvested from May until end of October. Lettuce needs warm, moderately moist soils rich in humus and nutrients in order to bring best crops.
Each package contains 0.5 g of "Reglice" field, Batavia-type lettuce seeds. Growing instructions and the sow-by date are included in the package information.
