The 'Batuta' belongs to the latest field pea varieties. Its prominent characteristics is the production of high quality yield of dry seeds. Field pea grows best in the soils of the good wheat complex and very good rye complex with a close to neutral reaction. The soil should be thoroughly cultivated and not too moist. We recommend to sow soonest possible, already mid-March. The 'Batuta' field pea is an all-purpose cultivar that develops white flowers. The plants grow about 95 centimetres tall. The stems are rather stiff and therefore resistant to lodging. The pods are filled with large yellow seeds that contain plenty of protein. The pods of the presented variety are not prone to dehiscence and losing seeds. This medium-late plant matures after circa 106 days. It is harvested in one go, preferably with a combine. The 'Batuta' field pea is resistant to diseases caused by mildews, ascochytosis, and fusarium wilt of pea. It is the most productive variety that delights with an excellent composition and multipurposeness.
