"Frozen Night" tulip dazzles with the unique beauty of its frizzled petals. Their unusual colour - deep dark red with shades of purple - looks almost black at times. The petals of that variety open in the May sun and reach a diameter of up to 20 centimetres! The "Frozen Night" tulip is a plant whose strong, sturdy stems grow 40 to 50 centimetres tall. Their dark flowers of that magnificent variety constitute a collector's gem for all tulip lovers thanks to their surprising shape.

Noble tulips look great in the garden and in containers on a balcony. These flowers can be used in a wide variety of ways. They fill spring flower beds and can be used to create breath-taking carpets on lawns. They liven up the garden when planted under trees and shrubs. Long rows of flowering tulips planted alongside a path or building wall provide a wonderful visual experience that young will not forget. You cannot forget about tulips as cut flowers. Tulip bouquets herald the coming of spring.

Tulips grow best in sandy-loam soil. They prefer rich, humous and permeable soil. To provide them with optimal growing conditions, make sure that the soil stays slightly moist or moderately dry. The site should be sheltered from the wind, sunny or partially shady. We recommend to transplant the bulbs to another situation every three years on average.

Tulip bulbs should be planted in autumn, preferably in September and October. Place them at the previously prepared site in the field or in at least 20 centimetres deep pots or planters. Cover tulip bulbs with a layer of soil that is at least twice as deep as their height. We recommend to add well-fermented compost to the soil before planting to improve its quality. Tulips survive low temperatures quite well, but they are not fully frost resistant. We recommend to cover the sites where they grow with conifer twigs or mulch. It will also prevent weeds from growing and the soil from drying out.
