Tulips belong to flowering plants that are rather undemanding. You should provide them with a fertile, permeable and not too compact soil, as well as plenty of sunlight. Plant tulip bulbs in autumn, preferably in September and October. Tulip growing sites should be warm, loosened, and well drained to let rain water run off freely. Plant the bulbs 8 to 10 centimetres deep and 15 centimetres apart. Tulips belong to hardy plants and can winter in the ground. In order to ensure that your tulips bloom abundantly every year, we recommend to excavate the bulbs every three to four years. This action should performed after the wilted flowers have been removed and the leaves have yellowed.. Dug out and clean bulbs should be stored in a dry, ventilated place until the next planting.Â
Each package contains 50 bulbs of the "Greetje Smit" tulip, sized 11 to 12 centimetres in circumference. Basic plant information can be found on the product label.
