A strong root system, one of the key features of this variety, helps survive drought periods and facilitates growing. Presented variety produces firm bulbs covered with tight yellow scales. It is recommended to be eaten after the harvest and for medium-term storage. The bulbs are round and large. They usually weigh about 160 grams. The flesh is sweet-hot in taste and perfectly complements both meat and vegetation fare. Hercules onions do not lose their taste, juiciness, nor nutrients during storing.

Spring onion proves to be the easiest way to grow onion. It is a source of delicious chives all season long and supplies a large onion to be used in autumn and winter at the end of the growing season. Onion likes warm, sunny, and sheltered situations. Humous, moderately moist soil offers optimal conditions for the development of this vegetable. Cultivation, weeding, and removing stones is required before planting. Plant spring onions early in spring, in March and April in ridges twenty to forty centimetres apart. Keep seven to fifteen centimetre spacings between bulbs. Denser planting is recommended when growing bulbs for fresh chives and thinning the culture. Spring onion bulb tips should stick out of the soil or be only covered with a thin layer of earth.
