The Little Star botanical tulip is a dwarf plant whose natural looks appeal to many growers. Neat groups of this tulip introduce cheerful charm to your garden. Those typical spring white-yellow flowers with a green blush on the outer side of the petals are a true hit of rock gardens, borders, and colourful path and road edges. Presented tulip variety propagates quickly, what translates to a rather quick naturalization of the area. This process looks especially tempting on embankments, slopes, and under tall trees, where sunlight operates without restraint. The small, only 15-centimetres-tall tulips look stunning in ornamental planters. Their decorative, broadly opening, six-petal flowers look like stars and can effectively revive any given terrace or balcony.
Tulips prefer permeable, humous, light, deeply cultivated, and well-drained soils. The develop best on sunny situations, but partial shade should not be treated as a deal-breaker. Plant tulip bulbs in autumn, tip up. Cover them thoroughly with soil, press it gently and water abundantly. You can add a layer of mulch before the winter to prevent the bulbs from frost, weeds, and the soil from drying in spring. This measure is not necessary, yet recommended. We also recommend transplanting tulip bulbs to a new site every three to four years.
We hereby offer 5-bulb packages of the Little Star tulip. Basic plant facts and growing instructions were printed on the packaging label.
