The Manitou lawn tall fescue is a perennial grass of excellent durability. Its main features are slow growth and broad leaf blades that gives a lawn a slightly rugged appearance. Its exceptionally strong root system allows the tall fescue to survive in meagre soil and periodically waterlogging ground. Strong stolons developed by that grass species quickly turf the area and form a compact grass that is resistant to low temperature and exposure to sunlight. Thanks to its numerous features, tall fescue can be grown on post-industrial, polluted land, and used to rejuvenate lawns. Tall fescue also belongs to grass selections for showcase locations and sport grounds.

Tall fescue does not belong to demanding grasses. It does not require much watering nor nutrition. It survives low cutting and trampling very well.
