Onion "Cordia F1" is an excellent hybrid, medium late variety. A semi-erect plume of green chives forms the over-ground part. The tubular leaves it consists of are long and wide. The foliage can be green or greyish, due to a waxy coating. "Cordia" onions reach medium to large size and an average to large height. Leaves grow from a slightly convex tip, while the onion base is round. The scales covering the onions are yellow, medium-thick, and moderately adherent. The white flesh is savoury, but very juicy, hence perfect for salads, braising and frying. These onions are delicious when stuffed. "Cordia" variety shows no tendency to prematurely sprout flowering stalks. The late sprouting in storage is also an advantage. Vegetation period lasts 130-140 days.

Onion is a vegetable that can be successfully grown from seedlings and sowing. The second cultivation method is the one that is most commonly used. Onions are usually sown in April, in rows 20 cm apart and 1.5-2 cm deep. Choose sunny and warm sites, as well as fertile, sandy loam, moderately moist soil for onion cultures. Onions grow well on on soils enriched with manure, but also respond positively to mineral fertilization. Weeding belongs to the most important care measures in onion cultivation. Onions can be harvested after the chives break and dry.
