Onion "Eureka" (Allium cepa) belongs to late varieties and is recommended for long-term storing. The bulbs reach crop maturity 140 - 150 days after the sow. This variety yields rich crop of high quality bulbs. The crops mature evenly and greens break almost simultaneously.

Onions of this variety take on rhomboidal shape and grow large, as they may weigh from 150 to 200 g. The inner scales, recommended for direct, raw consumption, are white, firm and have a slightly pungent taste. The outer, dry scale is shiny and yellow. It sits tight and does not tend to break nor fall off. This very important feature allows to store "Eureka" onions for a long time. Sow onion seeds directly to the ground. This is by far the easiest cultivation method of this vegetable. Start with the sow as soon as the soil has dried after the winter, from March to April. If you wish to achieve rich, high quality crops, grant onion with a medium compact, well structured soil. Humus and nutrients content should be high, just like the humidity. You should also care for the right reaction of the soil - the pH should not fall outside the 6.5 - 7.0 range.

Each package contains 5 g of "Eureka" onion. The package information contains growing instructions and the sow-by date.
