The 'Tonda Muson' white medium late onion (Allium cepa) is an excellent variety that displays increased frost resistance. It produces large, spherical bulbs that are evenly sized and shaped. They consist of a pure white, delicious, crunchy flesh. These aromatic, slightly sweet and not too savoury onions are perfect for direct consumption in sandwiches and salads. They can also be dried and stored for a short time. They taste delicious roasted, fried and steamed, as an addition to meat, egg dishes, soups and sauces. The 'Tonda Musona' onion, as a late variety, provides excellent raw material for healthy natural syrups for colds and coughs. It is rich in essential oils with antiseptic properties and contains numerous B vitamins, vitamins C, E, K and minerals, in particular potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, zinc and sulphur.

The 'Tonda Musona' onion seeds should be sown directly onto beds in early spring. Find a sunny site with fertile, moist soil in order to grow high quality rich crops. The harvest takes place at the end of summer and in autumn. You can harvest and eat the ripe and young bulbs as well as chives.
