"Wolska"onion (Allium cepa) is a late, very productive variety that produces high quality, regularly shaped and sized crops. It develops round bulbs that way 90 - 160 g and are covered with thin, straw-yellow scale. Their flesh is white, juicy and has a unique, very distinct taste. Thanks to that features it tastes great in salads and cooked, steamed and baked dishes. Onion contains large amounts of provitamin A, vitamins C, E, K and particularly B vitamins, as well as calcium and potassium, the two latter substances deacidify the body. Essential oils in onion juice show antibacterial effect thanks to phytoncides content. It also contains flavanoids (quercetin and kaempferol) that have antioxidant and anticancer effects.
Vegetable seeds on a tape allow for quick and convenient sow. Tape allows to maintain proper distances between the plants what accounts for even emergence that does not need to be thinned. Tapes with "Wolska" onion seeds should be placed directly on the ground in spring in rows 30 - 40 cm apart, 1 - 2 cm deep and than covered with a layer of soil and watered abundantly. Choose fertile soils rich in nutrients for onion cultivation. The bulbs will be harvest-ready from end of July to mid-September. One package contains 7 m of tape with "Wolska" onion seeds, as well as the sow-by date and growing instructions.
