"Turnia" is a fodder variety of the field pea. It is a relatively young, early variety that is grown for seeds and green fodder. The "Turnia" fodder pea is not limited to any particular habitat and may be grown across Central Europe. It belongs to the medium tall, narrow-leaved varieties that produce multi-colour blooms. The field pea has lower soil requirements, yet in order for it to yield richest crops, the soil needs to be thoroughly weeded, fertile and loosened. The "Turnia" variety belongs to the most productive ones. It may be grown from pure and mixed sowing. Oats, barley, sunflower and phacelia belong to the most popular companion plants. It may be directly fed to grazing animals or in form of concentrates and even silage. The greens are also used as green manure when grown as summer aftercrop. This variety shows good resistance to fusarium wilt, mildews and brown leaf spot. "Turnia" is a valuable variety of fodder field pea that reliably brings crops, ripens evenly and is drought resistant.
