"Grenade F1" beetroot (Beta vulgaris) is a medium early variety displaying high gustatory value. This industrial variety will also thrive in small gardens and allotments. It shows extreme resistance to the necrotic yellow vein virus, a viral disease that often plagues beetroot cultures. The "Grenade F1" cultivar yields rich crops that are evenly sized and shaped. Round roots take on dark red colour due to betanine content. They are perfect for direct consumption, but may also be preserved.

Beetroot is sown directly to the field, at the beginning of April already. Beetroot seeds are sown in rows 45 cm apart. Thin the plants after the emergence so they grow in 8 cm spacings. The first roots may be harvested at the beginning of summer already and the last ones at the end of October. "Grenade F1" beetroot is undemanding and may be successfully grown in almost every kind of soil. It should, however, be rich in nutrients and moist.

Each package contains 6 g of the "Grenade F1" red beetroot seeds. Growing instructions and the sow-by date are included in the package information.
