Beetroot "Egipski" (Beta vulgaris var. conditiva) is an early variety that takes 90 - 110 days from sow to the harvest. It is fitted for the earliest possible cultivation, making harvesting young roots with leaves possible. You may also produce preserves with them and store them long-term. Beetroot "Egipski" produces rather large roots. Round, distinctly flattened roots that resemble discs with their shape take on dark red colour. The flesh and peel are evenly coloured. Sweet, very juicy roots present excellent taste and high nutritional value. They supply our body with large amounts of vitamins and minerals.
Direct sow to the ground is the easiest beetroot growing method. Start the cultivation for the earliest harvest at the beginning of April. Sow the seeds for late crops and storing over winter from May until end of July. Sow the beetroot seeds available in our online store in rows 30 - 40 cm apart. Thin the seedlings after emergence, so they grow in 5 cm spacings. Rather light soils, in the second year after manure, rich in humus and water yield richest crops.
Each package contains 100 g of "Egyptian" beetroot seeds. Growing instructions and the sow-by date are included in the product information.
