Red Sun shallot onion bulbs allows you to reliably grow this vegetable in a home garden or on an allotment. This variety poses no problems in cultivation and is valued for its mild, slightly sweet taste. It can be used in every possible form - raw, boiled, fried, or steamed. It also supplies delicious green chives that tastes great in salads, spreads, and with cottage cheese. Small, elongated bulbs tightly covered with scale can be harvested from mid-July onwards. Shallots that grow in small bundles can be stored for up to three months in a cool and dry place. This onion species is famous for its milder taste and richer aroma in comparison to the ordinary onion and therefore constitutes an indispensable ingredient of many warm and cold dishes. The variety that we offer here is not only delicious, but also rich in many substances whose properties beneficially affect your body.
Shallots grown from bulbs should be planted in fertile, nutritious soil. Red Sun spring onion bulbs planted at the beginning of April can be harvested almost instantly, after one month already. Shallots do not need much space to grow - you can plant them in rows twenty to thirty centimetres apart. Spring onions should have enough place to produce bulbs, hence leave ten to fifteen centimetre spacings between them.
One package contains 10 kg of the Red Sun shallot spring onion bulbs.
