The Sylvetta rocket, also called arugula, is an annual leaf vegetable that is intended for the repeated harvest. You can grow these tenderly savoury leaves in a variety of ways. You can sow directly to the soil, into planters on the balcony and even pots on windowsills. The rich leaf rosettes measure from 20 to 40 cm in diameter. They taste best after they have reached height of 10 to 15 cm. The harvest takes place relatively quickly after the sow. You will be able to enjoy a delicious salad made of the fresh leaves or have a nice steamed side dish to meat or fish already 6 to 8 weeks after the sow. The green, dentate leaves are not only delicious, but also contain plenty of the easily available vitamin C. They are also rich in minerals, particularly potassium. They contain plenty of organic acids and essential oils with excellent medicinal properties.

The rocket should be grown from direct sow onto the field that takes place from March to August. The autumn harvest is grown from the late summer sow in an unheated greenhouse, hotbed and foil tunnels. Sow into shallow planters or pots. The cultivation requirements of the rocket are rather low. It needs a warm, partially shady site. It grows well in a sandy or sandy-loam soil that is rich in nutrients. These plants require a constantly humid site in order to develop well.

One package contains 0.5 gram of seeds. The basic plant information, growing instructions and the sow-by date can be found at the back side of the package.
