Flax sprouting seeds provide the easiest way to diversify your daily diet in a healthy and tasty way. We all know that flax jelly mildens stomach and intestine inflammations and is used as compresses in boil treatment. Less people are aware of the flax sprouts nutritional value. A few days old shoots and leaves, that are rich in vitamins and minerals, are a great addition to salads, sandwiches, yoghurts and breakfast cereals. They strike with their pleasant, slightly sweet taste, while their cultivation takes only a few days.
Rinse the seeds and place them in a shallow container or special sprouter. Please note that sprouting flax seeds produce a lot of mucilage, therefore we do not recommend to grow them in jars. The sprouter should be placed in a well lit place that is, however, not directly exposed to sunlight. Sprout culture has to be rinsed a few times daily. Delicious, healthy sprouts will be ready for consumption within a week.
