Sprout seeds, which have been known and valued since thousands of years ago, are a very important source of nutrients, enzymes, mineral salts and amino acids. Broccoli Sprouts contain vitamins C and PP, calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium. The sprouts are an ideal addition to salads and sandwiches. 100 grams of Broccoli Sprouts contains around 80mg of vitamin C, 6.6mg of vitamin PP, 90 to 100mg of calcium, 60 to 70mg of magnesium, 70 to 200mg of potasium and very little sodium. This product also contains sulforaphane, which destroys or decreases the reproduction of cancer cells, and has coenzyme Q10.
Remember – sprouts are healthy!
Home production of the sprouts: carefully rinse the seeds under running water and pour them in a jar in such an amout as to cover the bottom of the jar, then fill it with boiled, cold water (you can leave the jar for a night). Remove the water, rinse the seeds again, cover the jar with a gauze, tie it with a rubber band and place it in a warm position, which is not directly exposed to sun. Rinse the seeds and remove the water at least twice a day. The sprouts are ready to eat in 3 to 6 days.
