The Lemon Chiffon tulip is a variety that develops exceptionally large single flowers whose petals are adorned with a magnificent subtle pattern. The pastel colours, a mix of white and creamy yellow, makes this elegant perennial an absolutely versatile component of the border arrangements. The Lemon Chiffon tulip's name refers to the popular dessert, a fluffy lemon sponge cake. Its subtle, warm colours and the rounded shape of the flowers give the proposed variety a high ornamental value. This tulip has been made for growing for cut flowers and use in the elegant bouquets, particularly those composed for weddings.
Plant tulip bulbs in autumn, 10-12 cm deep. Choose bright, sunny sites, even though the plants do not mind staying in the partial shade for a few hours a day. The soil prepared for tulip cultures should be fine, fertile and airy, not too heavy, nor waterlogging. The Lemon Chiffon belongs to medium tall varieties and grows 30 to 40 cm tall. That is why it looks best in larger groupings, planted densely, only 10 - 15 cm apart, with similar spacings between rows. We recommend to combine it with the single and double tulips that bloom at the beginning of May, such as the red flowered Apeldoorn, Belfort and Dom Pedro, the orange Copper Image and Crossfire, as well as the purple Ballade, Blue Wow, Candy Prince and Crown of Negrete.
One package contains 50 bulbs of the 'Lemon Chiffon' tulip sized 11/12 cm. The basic plant growing instructions have been printed on the package.
