The Red Alert tulip is a low growing variety that produces unusual red flowers adorned with a touch of yellow and green. These compact strong plants develop their large flower cups in April. This Fosteriana tulip unites the best features of its group. This resistant and long flowering tulip is real hit of spring arrangements with its spectacular colour combination. It is perfect for growing on edgings, alongside paths and pavements, in rock gardens, pots, and planters on a balcony. The stunning beauty of the coral-red flowers with a refreshing stripe of yellow and lime green running through the middle is valued by both the gardeners and florists. Bouquets and other compositions in vases and bowls turn into unforgettable interior decorations thanks to the flowers of Red Alert variety.

Plant tulip bulbs in autumn. Tulips require a permeable, light, and fertile soil. The place should be sunny and moderately moist. Plant the bulbs in groups, about 10 to 15 centimetres deep and apart. Tulips usually react well to organic and mineral fertilization. You can feed them with complex fertilizers until they start to produce buds. Prune the flowers to make sure that they bloom equally well in the next season. Remove all wilted and withered flowers. This measure increases the number of produced bulbils and therefore allows you to grow more plants the next year. You do not have to dig out tulip bulbs every year, even though it is sometimes recommended. Digging up the bulbs ensures abundant flowering and lowers the risk of disease. Bulbs should be excavated in summer after the last leaves have wilted. The cleaned and slightly dried bulbs should be stored in an airy and cool room. Plant them again in autumn.
