The Salvo tulip is a wonderful, tall Triumph tulip that represents a new take on combining of white and pink in the spring perennial compositions. This slender, up to 50 cm tall plant is crowned with a large bowl-shaped flower and towers over the majority of bulbous perennials that bloom end of April/ beginning of May. Its erect stems are framed by the erect, decoratively bent leaves. Their dark green colour contrasts with the clean white and saturated pink petals of the offered tulip. The fuchsia-pink petal edgings underscore the slender form of the flower cups. The pink-white impressive Salvo tulips will bring relief to those gardeners who are bored with single coloured spring blooms. These tulips are perfect for borders and flower beds, as well as for decorating paths, fences, walls and other sunlit spots.

We recommend to plant the Salvo tulip bulbs in groups, in dense 15 x 15 cm spacings. These plants prefer permeable, humous, sandy-loam soils. The heavier soils should be loosened with an addition of gravel and sand - that way you will ensure that the bulbs will develop healthy and will not be threatened by waterlogging. All tulips with vividly coloured flowers, such as Salvo, look best in full exposure to the sunlight. The variety offered here would work perfectly as the distinct counterpoint to the single coloured Triumph and Darwin hybrid tulips, such as Apeldoorn, Attila, Cream Cocktail, Don Quichotte and Magic Lavender.
