The Ancilla tulip is an award-winning variety. Its flowers with creamy-white petals and a yellow-red centre are incredibly spectacular. To add to that already stunning colour play, the outer side of the flowers takes on a uniform pink-red colour. Slender Ancilla tulip buds unfold almost flat on sunny days, resembling shining stars. The long, lanceolate, and wavy leaves provide flowers with a background that is ornamental on its own. This low growing tulip belonging to the Kaufmanniana group is one of the earliest flowering plants. Its wonderful flowers will cheer up the surroundings in March, when the world craves colours after the winter. A fleck of vivid colouring provided by the Ancilla tulip is a show in its own class on a flower bed or in a planter on a balcony. These relatively small, yet sturdy tulips can also be used in rock gardens and for naturalizing lawns.

To begin the spring with a colourful tulip show, plant the bulbs in autumn. Find that species a sunny, bright spot. Tulips planted in partial shade produce smaller flowers. Put bulbs in well-drained, fertile, and moderately moist soil. You do not have to dig out the bulbs every year, yet they should be transplanted to a new site every two or three years. This treatment is necessary to upkeep the flowering power and maintain good health of plants. Excavating tulip bulbs allows to separate bulbils and propagate the lovely Ancilla tulip that way.

Package contains 50 bulbs of the Ancilla tulip, sized 11/12 centimetres in circumference. Basic plant facts and growing instructions were printed on the package label.
