The Night Flyer Asiatic lily (Lilium) produces exceptional flowers that look almost black, but these impressive blooms take on in fact deep, dark crimson colour. The plants of the presented variety are characterized by an erect habit and develop a 90 cm tall stem. The main shoot is covered with light green leaves and even a dozen flowers can develop on its top. They appear from July to August. The Night Flyer Asiatic lily constitutes a strong colour accent in every composition. It looks great planted in groupings at the background of a green hedge or lawn.

The Asiatic lily is an easy to grow plant even though it has specific requirements in regard to the soil. In order for it to grow vigorously int needs a fertile, permeable soil that is rich in humus and does not dry. It prefers sunny sites, even though it likes that the bulb remains in the shade. Mulching is therefore recommended. The bulbs should be planted in spring and autumn. The Night Flyer, just like the other Asiatic lilies, is resistant to frost.
