Asiatic lily "Night Flyer" (Lilium) develops stunning, truly outstanding blooms that look almost black. In fact, the large flowers of this magnificent variety take on a deep, dark crimson colour. These plants stand out with an erect habit and develop a 90 cm tall stem. It is covered with numerous pale green leaves. Atop of these stalks even more than a dozen bloom appear. They develop from July to August. The "Night Flyer" Asiatic lily will constitute a strong accent in every arrangement. It looks great planted in groups against the background of a green hedge or lawn.

Asiatic lilies are easy in cultivation although quite demanding regarding the soil type. They require a fertile, humous, permeable soil that does not overdry. It prefers sunny sites, although the bulbs should rather be kept in shade, hence mulching is highly recommended. Bulbs are planted in spring or autumn. Just like the other Asiatic lilies, the "Night Flyer" cultivar is frost resistant.
