The Brillant stonecrop (Sedum spectabile) belongs to tall varieties that bloom abundantly and reliably. Its dense flower umbels can be admired from August to October. They take on a beautiful, fuchsia pink colour. Presented perennial remains ornamental all year long, because almost entire stonecrop family (Crassulaceae) are evergreen and do not lose foliage in autumn. An intriguing, semi-spherical, compact growth form, and unique bluish green leaf colour also belong to the advantages of the Brillant stonecrop.
The melliferous perennials of the Sedum genus are useful, attractive, and easy to grow. Stonecrops attract pollinating insects to the garden. They constitute a feeding place for bees and bumblebees. They grow and flower exuberantly on meagre, sandy, dry soils. They are not afraid of pests and diseases and even handle heavy frost well. The up to 50-centimetre tall Brillant stonecrop looks great in the centre of a multi-species border. Its bright pink flowers stay fresh and charming when the majority of flowering perennials already enters the dormancy period. Brillant is an excellent proposal for rock gardens and natural gardens. It can adorn a sunny embankment, parapet, path edge, or add diversity to a perennial grouping at a place of relaxation.
