Orange busy Lizzy (Impatiens walleriana) belongs to the most popular plants planted on shady sites. This annual plant develops a bushy habit and its stalks are covered with fleshy, pale green leaves with corrugated edges. This foliage is very tender and brittle. In summer and early autumn the plants are covered with myriads of orange blooms that would adorn your garden. Busy Lizzy or balsam, sultana, impatiens, as it is also commonly called, looks terrific planted in larger groupings on lower borders and flower beds. It also thrives on balconies and terraces, particularly those at least partially shady. Busy Lizzy may also be used to decorate interiors as a year-round pot plant.
Busy Lizzy seeds are sown early in spring under covers. The seedlings need to be thinned twice. Transplant them outside in the second half of May, after the spring frosts are gone. Harden young plants before that transfer, so they handle the transition well. Busy Lizzies grow best in partially shady and sheltered sites, you must not plant them in full sun. They prefer permeable soils rich in nutrients and water.
Each package contains 0,1 g of the orange busy Lizzy seeds.
Growing instructions and the sow-by date are included in the package information.
