Pink busy Lizzie (Impatiens valleriana) is a beautifully blooming flowering plant ideal for shady borders, as well as balconies and south-facing windowsills. Crunchy and juicy shoots are covered with large numbers of oval, dentate leaves. Compact, green tufts look particularly attractive in summer, when charming, pink blooms appear atop the stalks. They develop all summer long until beginning of autumn. Extraordinarily ornamental busy Lizzies, also know as balsam, sultana or impatiens, is recommended for shady borders and flower beds. It grows well in pots and boxes, therefore may be used for balcony, terrace and even home interior decorations.
Busy Lizzies are grown from seeds early in spring in heated rooms. The developing seedlings need to be thinned. After the seedlings have grown circa 15 cm tall, transplant them to the permanent site. This species is frost-sensitive, hence the plants may be transferred outside no earlier than in the second half of May. Busy Lizzy does not require to much in regard to the soil, although it would bloom better in rich soil. The soil needs to be moist and permeable. It grows best in partial shade, but could also grow in the full sun.
Each package contains 0,1 g of the pink busy Lizzy seeds.
Growing instructions and the sow-by date are included in the package information.
