The Cacharel tulip (Tulipa) whose flowers take on a cool shade of pink is far from another ordinary incarnation of a pink tulip. You only need to look at its sumptuous, almost spherical flowers to see the difference. Petal edges of this elegant representative of the Fringed tulip group end with narrow, thin, needle-like frills. That intriguing shape of the petals adds a wild touch to delicate flowers. Presented variety constitutes a unique addition to every classic tulip flowerbed. The offered variety grows up to forty to fifty centimetres (sixteen to twenty inches) in height, depending on soil fertility and lighting conditions. Large, slender, elegant, and at the same time unique Cacharel tulips perfectly fit into middle or background of a multi-species composition. Offered tulip looks delightful in loose groups on lawns, in single-variety arrangements, or in combination with other Fringed varieties. It blooms in late April and early May.
The Cacharel tulip does not have high cultivation requirements. Plant its bulbs only in autumn, in humous and permeable soil. It is worth planting at least five to seven bulbs at one site, about fifteen centimetres apart, to achieve most spectacular results. This variety likes sunny and partially shaded situations. Pink fringed tulips should be planted with other colour variations of their group, such as Blue Heron, Carrousel, Crystal Star, Gorilla, or Traveler that are all available in our store.
One package contains five bulbs of the Cacharel tulip, sized eleven to twelve centimetres (four-and-a-half to eleven inches) in circumference. Essential growing instructions can be found on the package.
