Castor Oil Plant ‘New Zealand Purple’ is a unique annual plant that grows up to 1.5 metres in height. It features very characteristic wide palmate leaves with a purple tint. The numerous spiky fruit grow on top of each shoot. Castor Oil Plant ‘New Zealand Purple’, with a flowering period from July all the way to the first frosts, is commonly used in parks and gardens. Additionally, this variety is a wonderful cover plant and can be grown on its own.
Growing: sow the seeds in pots (10 centimetres in diameter) from March to early April. Plant out into the soil in 80x80-100cm spacings in the second half of May or when there is no risk of frost.
