The Cloudy variety of aconite is a perennial that forms spreading clusters of flowers at the top of erect stems. Those beautifully shaped, slightly shiny inflorescences are popular among garden enthusiasts. The offered plant reaches about 80 centimetres in height. It produces dark green, shiny leaves that are rather sparsely distributed on the erect stems. The truly spectacular flowers appear in the second half of summer, in August. The plant successively produces new buds until October. The light blue colour of the flowers is the effect of blurring of the more coloured edges with the white background of the helmet-shaped flower that is characteristic for this species. We recommend to plant this plant on perennial and mixed flower beds, in a rock garden, and in woodlands. Aconite looks attractive near water reservoirs. Its flowering tufts add a nice touch to tree trunks and larger shrubs.

Aconite seedlings should be planted in April and May, 40 to 50 centimetres apart and 10 centimetres deep. This perennial can grow on the same site for several years. When a plant begins to wither, it needs to be split up and transplanted to a new position. Aconite is easy to grow and fully frost-resistant. It is an interesting option that can enrich the perennial collection in your garden. It tolerates various light conditions - it is suitable for both sunny situations and shade. It likes fertile, moist soil.

Do not forget that aconite is a poisonous plant. Daily care and accidental touching of leaves and stems should not be dangerous, yet always act with utmost caution. The seeds and roots are primarily toxic. It is recommended to plant it in places that are difficult to reach, especially for children and pets.
