The 'Canaliculatus' daffodil cheerfully heralds spring. Its numerous white-yellow flowers beautifully revive the dullness of early spring. Low cultivation requirements and easy growing belong to the most important advantages of these charming flowers. Narcissi belong to perennial bulbous plants that bloom early in spring. Together with other flowering plants, such as tulips and grape hyacinths, they create bright colourful patches on flower beds.

The 'Canaliculatus' variety develops several flowers on one stem. The tepals of the perianth are snow white and bent up, while the inner 'trumpet', the corolla appendages, is bowl-shaped and bright yellow. The grass-like leaves are linear, strap-shaped and covered with a waxy coating. They develop in loose rosettes that surround the flowering stalks. These graceful, cheerful flowers grow 20 to 30 centimetres tall.

Grow daffodils on sunny sites, but they will also develop well in partial shade. This species does not have any special requirements in regard to soil. The planting period starts mid-August and lasts all September and October long until November. It only needs a moderately fertile and moderately moist garden soil. All narcissi require watering during dry springs. The soil reaction should be slightly acidic or neutral. Narcissus is a plant fully resistant to frost and does not normally require winter covering, we recommend, however, to apply a layer of dried leaves or mulch in colder regions. Take the covering off when the vegetation period starts, water the plants and feed them with multi-component fertilizer. Daffodils can grow on the same site for 4 to 8 years. We recommend to excavate the bulbs every 2 to 3 years.

The brightly coloured flowers perfectly complement spring flower beds. You will achieve the optimal visual effects by planting daffodils in groups. It will create the illusion of floating colours. Daffodils can grow as underbrush for trees and bushes. We also recommend to plant them in the second rows of edgings. They are also ideal for arranging open landscape areas. Narcissi can also be successfully grown in all kinds of containers.
