The White Lion narcissus impersonates the beauty of spring flowers. This classic, still extremely popular variety of double flowered narcissus still finds admiration among gardeners. The magnificent flowers that look like if they were made of wax consist of the overlapping petals that softly mould with the yellow parts of the corona. This beautiful "mane" turns almost clean white with time and proves that the name of the variety is right. The tall, strong stems of this plant grow 35 to 40 cm tall. The large flowers excrete a pleasant, captivating smell that invites to spend time in their vicinity. It is a valued cut flower for bouquets and arrangements.
The White Lion daffodil should be planted on moderately moist, humous soils that have a neutral reaction. This plant prefers sunny and partially shady sites. The bulbs should be planted in September and October, preferably in groupings. The planting depth usually does not exceed 10 to 15 cm and the distances between plants should measure 12 to 15 cm. You may cover the planted bulbs with a thin layer of mulch, but it is not considered necessary. Feed the plants with compost in spring in order to stimulate flower production. Give them a dose of liquid fertilizer after the blooming period has ended. It will strengthen the bulbs and guarantee abundant blooming in the following season.
The price quoted here is valid for 250 bulbs of the White Lion narcissus, sized 12 to 14 cm.
