The ornamental Bodacious dahlia looks spectacular in every garden. It creates a warm, orange glowing atmosphere thanks to the energetic combination of yellow and red.  The over one metre tall, noble beauty does not leave a single person indifferent to the charm of its large flowers that are the size of a saucer. Fluffy flowers densely packed with brightly coloured petals belong to the most stunning sights that the nature presents us with. The Bodacious dahlia is a good choice for completing a flower bed background, planting alongside walls and fences, growing in large planters, and using as cut flower in bouquets.  Presented dahlia variety and its cheerfully coloured flowers are the best possible choice to liven up your surroundings with positive energy.

Growing dahlias is easy. Excavating rootstock before the winter is the only more cumbersome part. Dahlia should be planted on sunny or only partially shaded situations. The appropriate exposition to sunlight is crucial for the healthy development and bright, saturated colour of the flowers. Due to the relatively substantial height and the frailty of the stems, we do not recommend growing dahlia on windy spots. Staking of the flower-carrying stems might be necessary. Dahlia requires neutral or slightly acidic soil that is rich in nutrients, permeable, and constantly moist. Plant dahlias every 50 to 60 centimetres. Put the tuberous roots about 5 to 10 centimetres deep from April to June.  Dahlia requires watering during extended periods of drought. Its wilted flowers should be removed.  Dahlia reacts well to fertilization with manure, compost, and mineral fertilizers.

Dahlia roots stocks cannot winter in the ground and must be dug out in autumn. Trim the stem first and then gently excavate the rootstock. Store the rootstocks in ventilated open boxes in a dry place where the temperature is stabilized between 2 and 4?C. Cover the rootstock with sand or peat for even safer storage. If you detect loss of firmness or wrinkled surface on the rootstocks, you can moisten them slightly.

A single package contains 10 pieces of first choice Bodacious dahlia rootstock. Basic plant growing instructions can be found on the package.
