The Encore dahlia fulfils dreams of all gardeners who were looking for outstanding varieties with its thrilling golden-yellow flowers. Presented variety produces extra large flowers, typical for the cactus dahlias. They form huge almost ideally spherical flower heads with which they impress their onlookers. The about 120 centimetres tall stems of the Encore dahlia are surrounded by feathery green leaves that perfectly complement lime yellow blooms. Dahlia flowers long and abundantly. Presented variety is no exception to that rule. Its magnificent flowers decorate gardens between July and October. Lush dahlia plants fit on large flower beds, single-species plantings, and flowering dividers. The Encore dahlia would also work well as an eye catching solitary plant.

The magnificent dahlias do not require much from their growers. You will be able to master them without any problems as long as you learn about their preferences. These charming flowers need a sunny and wind-sheltered site. Dahlias are rather demanding when it comes to nutrients. Therefore, we recommend enriching the soil with compost before planting rootstocks. Dahlias should be fed all season long. Choose multicomponent fertilizers with lower nitrogen content as this compound blocks flowering. Dahlias need to be regularly watered to develop well - they quickly react with wilting to water shortages. Dahlia varieties that produce large and heavy blooms require staking that prevents frail shoots from breaking. Remove some of the flower buds to grow larger blooms. Removing of the wilted flowers helps to prolong the flowering period.

Tender dahlia rootstock cannot winter in the ground. Trim the stems after the first substantial temperature drop in autumn, excavate the bulbs and store them indoors. We recommend placing the rootstocks in an airy box filled with sawdust or peat. The temperature inside a room where you store dahlia rootstock should be constantly a few grades Celsius above the freezing point.
