Dahlia-flowered common zinnia "Canary Bird" (Zinnia elegans dahliaeflora Canary Bird) is a resistant, dependably flowering annual plant used in flower beds and as cut flower. It grows 60-80 cm tall and produces very large, double, bright yellow blooms that will adorn your garden from mid-June to October. Plants grown from seedlings (sown from mid-March to mid-April) in a small greenhouse, unheated tunnel or hotbed ensure particularly exuberant blooming. Direct sowing into permanent location in the middle of April should bring similar results provided you have a warm, sunny site.
Dahlia-flowered common zinnia "Canary Bird" requires humous, moist soil and full exposure to sun. It looks best combined with other single and double flower zinnias, like the orange Eldorado, deeply pink Illumination, two-coloured "Carrousel" or scabiosa-flowered zinnias. You can also combine it with bright yellow end of summer flowers, like coneflowers, sunflowers or caucasian elecampane.
One packet contains 1 g of dahlia-flowered common zinnia "Canary Bird" seeds. Sow-by date and growing guide are printed at the back side of the package.
