The Teesbrooke Audrey is collarette dahlia that enchants with its pastel colours. This charming garden lady develops up to one-metre-tall stems. It nears the ideal of a long flowering plant and is definitely worth inviting it into your garden. Its pale lavender, broad, almost circular petals rest under a white fringed collar that surrounds the golden centre. A seemingly modest Teesbrooke Audrey covers its 80 to 100 centimetres tall stems with a huge number of flowers. Dahlias are wonderful plants that fit into rural, natural, and English gardens as well as into simple plantings in front of buildings. It attracts bees and butterflies. The Teesbrook Audrey dahlia is a variety that can be easily combined with other plants. Its light colouring does not dominate but underscores and accentuates other colours. Just like other dahlias, it is recommended to be cut and put into vases. An abundant bunch of simple, elegant collarette dahlias can quickly lift your spirits on a cloudy or rainy day.

Growing dahlias is easy. Excavating rootstock before the winter is the only more cumbersome part. Dahlia should be planted on sunny or only partially shaded situations. The appropriate exposition to sunlight is crucial for the healthy development and bright, saturated colour of the flowers. Due to the relatively substantial height and the frailty of the stems, we do not recommend growing dahlia on windy spots. Staking of the flower-carrying stems might be necessary. Dahlia requires neutral or slightly acidic soil that is rich in nutrients, permeable, and constantly moist. Plant dahlias every 50 to 60 centimetres. Put the tuberous roots about 5 to 10 centimetres deep from April to June.  Dahlia requires watering during extended periods of drought. Its wilted flowers should be removed.  Dahlia reacts well to fertilization with manure, compost, and mineral fertilizers.

Dahlia roots stocks cannot winter in the ground and must be dug out in autumn. Trim the stem first and then gently excavate the rootstock. Store the rootstocks in ventilated open boxes in a dry place where the temperature is stabilized between 2 and 4?C. Cover the rootstock with sand or peat for even safer storage. If you detect loss of firmness or wrinkled surface on the rootstocks, you can moisten them slightly.

A single package contains 10 pieces of premium quality dahlia rootstock of the Teesbrooke Audrey variety. Basic plant growing instructions can be found on the package.
