The Double Firecracker daylily (Hemerocallis hybrida) belongs to the most beautiful varieties and produces double, deeply red coloured blooms. This is a plant with medium grow strength that develops nice tufts consisting of long leaves, from which the flowering stalks emerge. This variety grows circa 50-70 cm tall. Double Firecracker starts to bloom a little earlier than other daylilies, at the end of June already, and continues to bloom until August. It looks stunning grown alone and in larger groups, as well as in company of other daylily varieties, ornamental grasses and perennials that bloom in summer.

Daylilies are planted onto borders in spring or autumn, and they can grow in one site for many years. They develop well on sunny and partially sunny sites, although they bloom significantly less abundant in the shade. These plants prefer soils that are rich in nutrients and humus and retain water well. This flowering plant may be grown in vicinity of water basins. Double Firecracker variety is very easy in cultivation and frost-resistant.
