The Double Sensation lily bears large ornamental flowers that look delightful on flower beds, lawns, and in vases. Its double flowers whose petal bases are either white or creamy-greenish, while the tips are cherry-red, provide a true feast for the eyes. This variety is recommended for growing in pots due to its attractive, relatively compact appearance. Four to five scented flowers appear on the stiff, erect stems that reach 70 to 80 centimetres of height. You can admire their charm for about two weeks. This beautiful Asiatic lily is a real gem that is worth presenting it at the showcase spots of your garden.

The right situation for growing lilies is either sunny or only partially shaded. We recommend enriching the soil prepared for planting of lily bulbs with a substantial amount of deacidified peat that will keep it moist, and sand that will aerate the soil. Adding compost is an optimal solution, as it will provide the plants with a starter dose of nutrients. Lilies prefer aerated and permeable soils that have a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. They cannot stand neither moist nor dried sites. You can plant lily bulbs either in autumn or in spring. The first period is right for many varieties, the second works best for the late flowering cultivars. The soil must be loosened, tilled, and weeded before planting lily bulbs. Put them at the depth equal the circumference of the bulb. You can keep lilies of the most varieties 20 to 30 centimetres apart.  Lilies winter in the ground very well. Change their site every three years to maintain the abundance of blooming at the proper level.
