The "Saphire Beauty" Dutch iris (Iris hollandica) is true garden beauty! It is perfectly suited for planting on perennial beds, but it will also bring you excellent cut flowers. It develops marvellous sapphire blue flowers whose lower petals are yellow speckled. The variety that we present here grows 60 cm tall on average. It will delight you with its beautiful flowers at the end of spring and in summer, from May to July.

Plant the "Saphire Beauty" iris bulbs in spring or autumn 10 centimetres deep and 8 centimetres apart. You should provide irises with a sunny or partially shady site and a permeable, sandy and moderately moist soil. Even though it is rather resistant to frost, we advise to cover the site with mulch before the winter comes.
