The "KP-1" forage grass selection intended for hay and silage production is recommended for 1 - 2 year grasslands set up on farmlands. It belongs to quickly growing varieties.

Pastures, grasslands and meadows constitute the foundation of feeding farm animals. They are most commonly used for direct feeding of grazing animals in summer. Harvested green mass is also used in production of winter fare - hay, silage and haylage. Plants used in this selection have to display quick growth, yield rich crops and have the right combination of nutrients.

The KP-1 grass selection is based on the Westerwolds rye-grass and Italian rye-grass. These two varieties are responsible for quick and high-volume growth of green mass already in the first year of cultivation. The addition of clover increases protein content, significantly enhancing the nutritional value of fodder. The selection presented here is recommended for preparation of silage and haylage. It brings richest crops on medium-compact soils with stable water conditions.

Quickly growing pasture and catch crop grass selection become a more and more popular way of achieving cuttings in a way shorter time than in case of traditional grasses. They delight with high productivity and allow you to use the farming land in a more efficient manner during the whole year.
