The "Kośno - kiszonkowa KP-2" forage grass selection has been created for perennial use on farmlands as alternate grasslands in the crop rotation. It yields rich harvest on lesser soils and tolerates periodic drying of the soil. This grass mixture is recommended for regions with harsher climate. It is considered a typical hay mixture for preparation of green forage, silage and haylage. Apart from grasses it encompasses alfalfa, a plant that makes it more delicious. It also increases the nutritional value of the fodder and volume of the green mass without the need of applying intensive nitrogen fertilizing. The inclusion of such species as cock's-foot, smooth (awnless) brome or festulolium make this mixture resistant to periodically drying soils.

Grasslands that are included in the crop rotation schemes are started on farmlands in order to increase the volume of fodder available on the farm. The quality of grass selections used for this purposed depends on the similar proportions of low and tall grasses. An addition of small-seed Fabaceae plants (legumes) that increases the volume of green mass and improve the nutritional value of cuttings also proves to be an important factor.

Seeding rate of this forage grass selection is 35-40kg/ha.
