The 'Mascotte' fringe (Crispa) tulip belongs to highly ornamental varieties that bloom mid Spring, in May. Its erect, up to 50 centimetres tall stems, carry large double flowers that consist of densely packed, frizzled petals. They take on a deep, purplish red colour and have white dentate edges, what results in a beautiful contrast and turn the 'Mascotte' tulips into an instant eye-catcher.
Tulip bulbs should be planted in September the earliest and mid-October, 12 to 15 centimetres deep and 12 centimetres apart. The plants stand out with high resistance to frost, but you can cover the sites where they grow with a thick layer of pine bark or peat. The 'Mascotte' fringe (Crispa) tulip requires, just like the other representatives of the Tulipa genus, free access to sunlight and a rich, permeable, yet not drying soil. It is perfectly suited for formal borders and large, loose groups in the middle of lawns. We recommend to combine it with white, pink, yellow and blue tulips.
One package contains 50 bulbs sized 11/12 centimetres in circumference. The bulbs offered here in our store were bred in Holland.
